I’m searching for something that doesn’t exist. I’m longing for someone who I’ve invented. I wonder who'll show that I am reaching for nothing. When the shadow rises, and you see me for what I really am. When the illusion is gone, what do you do, what do you say? I feel untouched, I feel undone, I feel unloved, I feel unsung. I feel unmoved, I feel unnerved, I feel un-soothed, I feel dis-served.

To Be Undone 04:36
I hide my eyes from looking on. I hide my heart from being written on. I hide my love from a warm embrace. Do you still have faith? The air outside is cold and dark, but not as cold as a weary heart. For a weary heart knows no love like yours. Therefore can't be warm. I wish you could be my savior and then you could ease my labored soul before it comes crashing down. I wish you could love me tender, and you'd make me mine remember how it feels to be undone. I wish to stand in your heart alone, but my legs are weak as I have shown. My will is strong, but not like yours, of that I'm sure.

My love ain’t rich, she ain’t got much money. Her heart is full, eyes are bright and sunny. My love ain’t tall, but she stands up proud. Her soul is strong, her singing is loud. Hold me love, my West Virginia. Rock me to sleep in your loving arms. I’ll hold onto you tight, my West Virginia. When I leave you my love I won’t go far. Your beauty is young and old romantic. Your bones are strong and bold enchanted. Springtime your love is budding and blooming. Winter the fire’s caught, ain’t moving.

Salvation 03:57
Do you dare? Aren't you scared of what they say is true? I'm too afraid to grow. I'm too afraid to know. I'm too afraid to show Where my heart will go. A kiss upon my cheek— my smile for you is weak. My soul is oh so bleak. This life is oh so fleeting. I don't believe in salvation. Why have I never been? Why have I never dreamed? Beyond a thought of you and I, why have I never believed? Why would you believe in me? Sometimes I think to cry when I wish to die. Sometimes the light feels nigh even as I try. Sometimes your touch is tender; it makes me soon remember, the novelty of pretender will never truly better me. I don't believe in salvation. Why have I never been? Why have I never dreamed? Beyond a thought of you and I, why have I never believed? Why do you believe in me? Do you dare? Aren't you scared of what they say is true? Is it true? Are you?

A dot on the wall; A thought in the past; I'm nothing at all to those of your class. And those of your class are all but I. For I am surpassed by all in my eyes. I'm within without, in a cloud of doubt that I can't live without. I am lost in smoke; when I breathe, I choke; when I leave, I'm broken. When I reach for nothing and nothing grabs back, I may be worth loving, but the love ain't on track. My soul ain't on track— never had been. It always has lacked the courage of sin.

Is the water clear in the West Virginia rivers? Is the water clear at the Summerville dam? Is the water clear from the spring on Friar's Hill? Is the water clear? Is the water clear in all the Michigan households? Is the water clear in the Dakota fields? And is the water clear in the refugee's life boat? Is the water clear? Well I know, you know that the water's not clear, and we know we gotta go bring the power back here. Well the sunshine, the moonlight as the days pass and we rise. When your courage, grit, and love fit—the passion, the power, the future allower you hold in your hands. Is the air clear in the Syrian skyline? Is the air clear in the clouds above New Delhi? Is the air clear when you breathe in in Gaza? Is the air clear? Is the air clear in the Appalachian mountains? Is the air clear in the White House in D.C.? Is the air clear in the Detroit inner city? Is the air clear? Are we clear that we’ll labour ’til we’re weary? Are we clear that we’ll labour ’til we're one? Are we clear that we love you like we’re brothers? Are we clear?

I felt alive, but I felt cautious. I felt revived, but I felt lost, did you? Still I thought I was right for you. Did you know? I thought I was right for you. I felt confused, I felt confounded. I felt bemused, I wondered how did you know that I was not the one for you? How did you know that I was not the one for you? When I saw the light in your eyes, I sighed. When I sighed you somehow knew that I was wrong for you.

Revenge is a dangerous word; remorse isn’t cause for concern. To forgive is a simple command, and now we know it can’t stand free as the wind flying high— calm as the blue in the sky. The love passes through, as you told would be true. I see colorized friction. Contempt cannot heal our divides, yet contempt bears a will to survive. Respect is not ours to demand, yet is the want of all man. The earth where we lay down our souls holds the truth of the weary, the old. When I die will I feel your embrace? Will I know how your endless grace is free as the wind flying high— calm as the blue in the sky? When the love passes through, as you told would be true will it be free as the wind flying high— calm as the blue in the sky? When the love passes through, as you told would be true, I’ll see colorized friction.
